Approximately three weeks ago, I entered myself into a national contest called the 2014 Eyes of History: Student Video Contest, which was hosted by the White House News Photographers Association. After three short weeks, my teacher called me to tell me that I had placed in second in my division, which was the Narrated Package. I didn’t even expect to win, so I’m extremely honored. I don’t know how many other students entered, but I do know that I am expected to join a gala event in Washington D.C. at the Ritz Carlton Hotel to receive an award.
This is the first year the association opened up its contest to students. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my teacher, family and the man, Andy Cook, who said yes to me. Here’s the link.
